  IO ANGELI (1960)

Born in the Island of Mytilene, Io Angeli studied architecture at the National Polytechnic School of Athens and painting (1981-1986) at the School of Fine Arts with professor Dimitris Mitaras.  Awarded with school and governmental scholarships she continued her studies in London at the Royal College of Art (1988-1990) for painting and at St. Martin's School of Art (1990-1991) for stage designing. Her first solo exhibition was presented in Athens (1988) to be followed by other solo and group shows in Greece and abroad.  Her work is characterized for an abstract and symbolic disposition.  She lives and works in Athens.
