CONSTANTIN BYZANTIOS (1924-2007)
Born in Athens,
Constantin (Dikos) Byzantios studied painting at the School of Fine
Arts (1938-1942) at his father's workshop (Pericles Byzantios) and
continued in Paris at the École des Beaux Arts and the Academies Julian
and Grande Chaumière. He had his first one-man exhibition in Paris (1949),
but participated in group shows already since 1947.
A series of other solo or group exhibitions followed in Athens, Paris
and other French cities. In the area of New Objectivity, his work includes
distinct expressionist and post-modern characteristics.
He lived and worked in Paris. Constantin (Dikos) Byzantios passed
away in Mallorca, Spain (2007).
