Born at Ioannina
(Epirus), Nicos
Houliaras studied sculpture and stage scenery at the School of Fine
Arts, Athens and graduated in 1967. In
1970
he moved to Paris, where he concentrated in painting.
He had his first one-man show in Athens 1969.
Other solo
and group exhibitions followed in Greece and abroad.
He has illustrated a series of book and disk front pages, while at the
same time he was engaged in writing and music.
He has been awarded for his painting with the 1st Prize of the
"Parthenis Award"
(1969). His work shows a distinct
distorting expressionism with elements of the naive and the
Greekness. He lives and works in Athens.
