  PASCHALIS (AGGELIDIS) (1955)

Born at Alexandroupolis (Thrace), Paschalis (Aggelidis) studied painting and decoration in Thessalonica and etching and metal art works at the Workshop of Dimitris Skretas (1973-1977).  He had his first solo exhibition in Kavala (1982), though he had participated to group shows already since 1978.  Other one-man and group exhibitions followed both in Greece and abroad.  He has illustrated a number of books, magazines, music disk front pages and posters and has made the stage scenery for many theater performances.  With strong presence of elements of Greekness, his work is distinguished for its poetic style and the balance that it creates between surrealism and hyperrealism.  He lives and works at Volos and Makrinitsa (Pilion).
